Polynesian Cultural Center-A Prize

One of my favorite places to visit!  The show there is amazing!  And one of the new attractions is a 4d movie that gives the viewer the experience of (in my opinion) riding in a helicopter over the polynesian islands.
A prize to the first person who can guess the local of each of the individual islands represented on these postcards!

Welcome to the Gateway!

At our visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center in Oahu I was able to find some theses retro style postcards.  These are some of my favorite discoveries.
This pineapple dude is very cute.
Speaking of pineapple, there are vendors at the side of the road who sell fresh pineapple.  Fresh as in they are purchased from the Dole plantation, you pick the one(s) you want, and they vendor will slice them up for you on the spot.  Mmmmmm.  Drippin' delicious!
Sadly, I never did get to see the statue of King Kameamea.  I'd also hoped to see some the of cast from Hawaii Five-O!
This one may have actually been a find from Pearl Harbor.
Anyone remember her name?

This could be a postcard

I am starting a new series of sorts.  So many times when I see photos I like (mostly ones my husband has taken) the thought comes to my mind, "that would make a great postcard."  I am going to share those with you.  Now you can see the world as I do through "postcard eyes"!

Aloha!

This was one of my number one reasons to want to visit Hawaii-beach, surf, sun!

This is the photo I have as the wallpaper on my phone.
(Those are my tootsies.)

Al{heart}ha

I love when you can find larger size postcards on which you can write more of a letter than just a note.  This one even has the little holes you would find on a real license plate.
Not sure I can part with this one!

Oahu Love

Sorry I have been gone.  (Probably nobody noticed.)
This past fall I went through a rigorous hiring & then training process to be an online instructor for one of my alma maters.  (This is in addition to my full-time library job.)
AND, just after the holidays my husband and I got to go on our first "real" vacation.
Some friends invited us to join them on their trip to Oahu.
Thanks to a free place to stay & a direct, mega cheap flight our trip was a go.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
