Reasons I haven't posted in awhile:

1.  Enjoying the fabulous weather.

2.  Biking with hubby (trying to get all the way to Middleton and back).

3.  Hanging out at Settler's Park.

4.  Working on a float with a friend for the Star Days Celebration Parade.

5.  Making loads of friendship books.

First Arrivals

The swaps came in a huge pile yesterday.  (Maybe not huge, but all at once.)  Here they are:
This came from Asheville, NC:  we were to write about our week and the plans we had for the weekend.

Blythe Doll came from Arizona:  5 book suggestions.

From Washington State:  Random postcard with greeting.  (This sender is new to the west like me.)

These envelopes came from Missouri and were made from a calendar.
I find it ironic that I would get bird calendar envelopes since that is what I sent.  (Only mine went to Australia!)
Here is the inside view.

This swapper also sent some extras!
Pages from a book & some cutouts.
Learn a Spanish phrase-a-day calendar.
Stickers.  (Sage has her eyes on these!)

My final treasure of the day was a package from California with loads of 6x6 scrapbook pages & stickers.
Greeting card with the papers.

I think I love this hobby!!!  There were also some neat stamps, but Sage is tired of waiting for her turn at the computer, so I'll save those for another day.

Boise River Walk

To celebrate a truly spring-like day, we stopped off to check out a small portion of the Boise River Walk.

Lucas snapped this shot.

Of course, I had to take a few lame shots of myself.

We also had to get a collection of rocks to take home.  Sage decided to put her collection in her shirt.  What she didn't know was that little by little they started falling out behind her as she went.

The boys and I were laughing our heads off & Sage had no idea why.  She yelled at us to stop laughing about her chocolate milk mustache, bent down & grabbed some more rocks (she was determined to take home any rocks; not necessarily the same rocks).

Ahhh, what a great afternoon!

Our other fabulous spring break activities included Dr. appts., ortho appt., eye appt., and a free visit to the YMCA downtown.  We are exciting!!!

March Cake Madness

In the spirit of the month, (college basketball) I made a cake.  I am not a decorator of cakes, but thought I'd give it a try.  Sage thought it was awesome.

Sage snapped a shot of the happy baker!

Just 5 Thoughts.

Halloween in Idaho totally stinks!  We so got more candy in Ohio!

Had a nice R.S. meeting learning about making pie crusts.

Love having internet on my phone!

I got lost in Boise this afternoon.

Saw the capital building.  My phone got me home.

Reading a cute book called, "Lawn Boy.

Book Stores

Today I got about 45 minutes of heaven.  I got to go to a book store.  Yeah!!!

It wasn't quite the one pictured above, but it was a book store nonetheless!!!  Sage and I wandered around looking at everything.  Ok, so I was looking at everything.  Sage was only happy because I said she could pick out a book.

My quest today, was to find something that I can use for work.  I need to come up with my own activities for my clients to do to accomplish their treatment goals.  I have a couple of books that I've gotten at the library, but I just had to find one that I could buy.  I think I found a winner.  It was on the clearance table & could be used in primary, young women's, relief society, and work.

Of course, while on my hunt, I found some cute activity books that I can use with my kids to keep them reverent in church.  (Or to keep me reverent in church.)  I was happy to find a Hello Kitty sticker activity book, also on clearance.

Although I am grateful for the Idaho bookstores that I have found, I am extremely saddened by the fact that my favorite of all favorite bookstores is not located here.  That would be......

I even sent the company an email requesting that they put a store in the greater Boise area.  I even volunteered to be am employee!  (I haven't heard anything from them, yet.)  I love this store because I could always find something that was both wanted and affordable.  And I could sell them the ones I didn't want/like.  Which, of course, led to more buying.

My absolute favorite was a little place in German Village (Columbus).  I have gotten lost there several times.  There are a multitude of rooms to browse.  Enough to occupy a bibliophile for hours or days.  I was able to wander it's wonderful, little rooms and climb/descend it's labyrinth of little stairways one last time before moving with my mother.  Sigh.  I guess it is better to have loved & lost, than never to have loved at all.
I think I need to open a bookstore!!!

Pictionary with Sage

Today we enjoyed a fun game of pictionary.  Of course, we don't play the way the instructions tell you to.  We have our own way of playing.  One that we developed with our friend Ian.

My personal favorite is "Screepy Hair!"  I'm not sure where she got that term, but that is her way of referring to crazy or messed up hair.  (Mine?)
